Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
My teaser:
"Prospero the Enchanter uses a pocket knife to slit his daughter's fingertips open, one by one, watching wordlessly as she cries until calm enough to heal them, drips of blood slowly creeping backward.
The skin melds together, swirls of finger print ridges finding one another again, closing solidly once more."
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, pg. 28
I enjoyed this novel. The ending is quite good, too. But it does owe a lot to "The Prestige."
ReplyDeleteI hear that this one is so great! I need to get to it some day!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to that day!
