Happy Turkey month, everybody! It's a brand new month and the start of the holiday season that brings us to the end of the year. That means there are brand new books to look forward to! Well, ok, there's brand new books to look forward to all the time but I'm one for the big picture and what's bigger than a month (I know, I know, a year, a decade, a millenium but I can only handle so much)? My pick this week is Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling due out October 11, 2011 by Crown Archetype.

My Thoughts:


So, I'm pretty much really waiting for the audio version of this book to come out. If you've read my review of Tina Fey's Bossypants you'll know that I'm a sucker for a comedian reading their own book. And, Mindy Kaling, her of many, many funny and crazy episodes (as a writer) and one-liners (as Kelly) of The Office is sure to be a blast. I can't wait! My Thoughts:

While touted as the next "Hunger Games," for me the first book got off to a slow start with Cassia living by the rules of the Society instead of being a rebel right off the bat like Katniss was. However, once I got into the story and the conflict that Cassia feels when she gets more than one option in her Marriage choice. I started to feel that she was more rebellious when she started following her own instincts instead of what the Society wanted her to do. I'm looking forward to seeing how far she goes and what she does to get there.
